Mechanical services covers the repair and installation work that keeps commercial and industrial equipment running, and we do it either at your facility or back at the shop.
The useful question is usually not what is broken but whether the fix should happen where the machine sits or where the tools are. Pulling an assembly and bringing it into the shop gives us a bench, a press and better light. Leaving it in place avoids a teardown that might be worse than the original problem. We make that call with you rather than defaulting to whichever is easier.
Because the same shop does fabrication, machining and welding, a mechanical job that turns into a fabrication job does not become somebody else's problem. A worn mount gets rebuilt, a cracked bracket gets replaced with one we make, a shaft gets threaded on our equipment.
We work on commercial and industrial equipment. We do not take small repairs, and outside of handrails, gates and fences we do not take residential work.
The way this usually starts is a description and a photo. Tell us what the equipment is, what it was doing when it stopped or started making the noise, and whether it can be shut down or has to keep running until a window opens. A photo of the failed area answers more questions than a paragraph, and the job form takes uploads.
From there we will tell you honestly whether it is a repair, a rebuild or a part that has to be made, and roughly what each of those means for time. Being able to fabricate, machine and weld in the same building is what keeps the second and third of those from turning into a new search for a vendor.
Everything on this page is commercial and industrial work. Residential is limited to handrails, gates and fences, and small repairs are outside what we take.
How this job runs
The same sequence every time, so you know what you are buying.
Look at the machine where it sits before anything is taken apart.
Work done at your facility when the equipment cannot reasonably be moved.
Assemblies brought back to Piketon when a bench and better access produce a better repair.
Worn or cracked components fabricated or machined here rather than sourced and waited on.
One shop for the mechanical work and the parts the mechanical work turns out to need.
Most repairs uncover a second problem. Having the fabrication and machining under the same roof is what keeps that from adding a week.

| Consideration | Favours on site | Favours the shop |
|---|---|---|
| Teardown required | Minimal, access is good | Assembly has to come apart to be assessed |
| Tooling | Hand tools reach it | Press, bench or machining needed |
| Downtime | Machine cannot be released | Machine can be released or a spare is fitted |
| Environment | Clean, lit, accessible | Dirty, cramped or badly lit |
| Likely rework | Fault is understood | Fault is not yet understood |
What to send us
Everything you leave out becomes an assumption, and assumptions are what make an invoice differ from a quote. None of this has to be formal.
Symptoms at the moment of failure narrow the diagnosis faster than anything else.
Or has to keep running until a window opens.
A sentence is enough to start. Precision comes later.
At your facility, or can it come to the shop.
Including any shutdown or outage window, and whether the date is fixed.
For anything that already exists, a photo does more than several paragraphs.
Questions about mechanical services

Will you come to our facility or do we have to bring it in?
Either. We decide with you based on what produces the better repair, not on which is easier for us.
Do you carry parts?
We make parts. Where a component is worn, cracked or missing, we fabricate or machine a replacement in the shop.
How fast can you respond?
We are open 24 hours, so there is no waiting for Monday. Put the urgency on the job form and we will tell you honestly when we can be there.
What do you not take?
Residential work other than handrails, gates and fences, and small repairs of any kind.
